It's February, daylight savings time is a week away. Longer evenings after work. Can hardly wait. I like getting home and having some daylight to play with.
Suggestion for Barack and the Demos. Why not add major provisions of Medicare into the health care reform legislation? Conservatives continue to rage about "government takeover of health care" but Medicare, a government program, already accounts for a significant percentage of health care coverage (60%?) Faced with reducing or eliminating Medicare most Republicans would have to take a stand that either there is a place for government sponsored health care (and not just for people over 65) or government should stay out of health care all together. Is anyone listening?
Why worry that passing health care reform will hurt Democratic candidates in the November elections? Nothing noticeable will have changed by November. What are Republican candidates going to say, "Look...health care reform passed and now look at America....it's....ah...ah...ah...???"
It's all good. Pass the legislation for cripes sake.
